For those of you who don’t know what an osteopath is, in my own rough language, I would call it a cross between a Chropractor and a Massage Therapist. Having participated in over 100 treatments from all 3 practices, by far I would have to say that a good Osteopath tops the others by a mile. An Osteopath first takes the time to loosen up the tendons and muscles that tighten up around the affected area where Massage therapists just loosen muscles and Chiroprators just make abrupt adjustments.

I was particularly surprised at the experience I had today with Dr. Garren Gebhardt at Applied Osteopathy. My journey started as I went on to the web under the search term “Indianapolis Osteopath”. I did not use quotation marks in my search. While I normally look at the un-paid, non sponsored ads first, I could not find anyone that really dominated this space, so I went to the paid advertisment and looked into his website.

Within an hour, Garren contacted me back personally and asked if I could come in today at 4:00. Garren had mentioned that he was a transplant from Vermont and eager to find new clients.  I mentioned that 4 would not work and he offered me 2 additional times, and I quickly accepted an appointment 1 1/2 hours from his return call time.Â

I arrived on time and Garren consulted and worked on me for about an hour and 15 minutes. He clearly knew what he was doing and I walked out slightly sore, but knowing that my body was back in alignment. Overall, Garrens approach to total body wellness was perfect for me. His price was also right. You can reach him at 317-750-6018.

In return for his great service I thought I would write this post for him. I also wanted to see what kind of page rank I could generate. Good luck Garren.

Treatment for oily skin types can also be found in face masks. A weekly face mask can help to revive oily skin. Use one that is clay or mud-based as these materials help to draw out and absorb the oil in your skin. Masks containing natural ingredients — such as oatmeal, lemon or cucumber — are also great for oily skin types and can help to dry to skin just a little. The key to controlling oily skin is to dry it out just enough, without overdoing it and pushing your skin into the dry skin category. As the skin care industry continues to grow, so do opportunities for
niche products. Oily skin is a common problem between both men and women, so many companies that specialize in treatment for oily skin offer a cache of products that cater to this skin type.

A regular cleansing routine can help you get in the habit of cultivating good skin health. Part of putting together a good routine is choosing the skin care products that work best for you.

Once you have navigated through the skin care aisle and found products that work for you, come up with a daily regimen that consists of cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing:

Cleansing: Choose a skin care product for your specific skin type — dry, oily, combination or normal. Wash in a circular motion with lukewarm water to retain the skin’s moisture.

Exfoliation: Granular products are best for this procedure to help scrub off all of the dead skin cells, allowing for maximum skin moisturizing. Good exfoliating procedures will also help smooth any rough areas of the skin.

Tone: A toner will help tighten skin and remove any remaining dirt or cleanser residue. At this stage, you can also opt for a facial mask, but refrain from doing this daily — once a week is most effective.

Moisturize: After completing the toning process, pat your skin dry with a towel. Do not dry up all of the moisture on your face; pat softly. Apply a moisturizer (preferably with sunscreen) to keep skin from getting dry. If you have oily skin, you do not have to moisturize every day; instead try to moisturize three times a week.

The matter is, this is the region of high sensitivity to insulin. If you have the insulin sensitivity problem, the best thing for you is a low carbohydrate diet. In this case, the abdominal fat really goes away first.

However, there ARE exercises to tone your upper abdomen so that when your fat layer disappears, the strengthened muscles will hold the shape.

Almonds

Bell peppers

Blueberries

Broccoli

Grapes (also wine)

Olive oil

Spinach

Strawberries

Functional foods are a different story. The term Functional Foods is used to describe foods capable to produce certain health benefits. So called probiotics is a good example. Probiotics are friendly bacteria, for example, those making yogurts like Lactobacillus or Bifidobacterium. They help to improve immune system, digestion, etc. Recently, research showed that yogurt help losing weight.
